A joint message from the Bay Area Water agencies
As the water agencies responsible for the delivery of safe drinking water to more than 5 million people in the Bay Area, we want you to know that you can count on us. Our crews remain on-the-job to provide essential services for the delivery of tap water you can trust. We understand our communities are facing challenging times and we are in this together. To help our customers stay healthy and safe, we promise:
- Tap water is treated and tested to ensure it is safe and meets strict state and federal drinking water quality standards
- Tap water is safe to drink and bottled water is only necessary as an emergency supply
- Water agencies have suspended shutoffs due to late/non-payment
As a reminder, physical distancing helps keep everyone safe. Please maintain 6 feet distance if you see us out working to keep your water on, ensuring your drinking water is safe, reliable and available during the COVID-19 Crisis.
