Dr. Micah Weinberg is the featured speaker for the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce luncheon series on July 25 at Garré Vineyard.

Dr. Weinberg joined the California Forward organization as its new President and CEO in April. He formerly served as President of the Bay Area Council Economic Institute, the leading think tank focused on the most critical economic and policy issues facing the Silicon Valley/San Francisco region. It was in that role that Dr. Weinberg participated in a speaker panel at an earlier Chamber luncheon.

“Dr. Weinberg brings us a unique perspective on economic challenges and possible solutions at the regional and now the state level,” said Dawn Argula, Chamber CEO. “LVCC members are already experiencing the impacts of the strong economy on labor, housing and to the cost of doing business.“

Referred to as CA Fwd, the organization is a cross-sector civic leadership group committed to producing prosperity for all Californians in all of the state’s regions and to improving government performance and accountability. It has been closely associated with government reforms that were passed by California voters including the creation of The Citizen Redistricting Commission, term limit reform, Top Two Primaries and the establishment of the Rainy Day Fund which has allowed California to accrue more than $16 billion in reserves to mitigate the impact of the inevitable next economic downturn on state revenues.

The luncheon is scheduled for Thursday July 25 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at Garré Vineyard Bella Rosa Event Center. For information and to make reservations for the LVCC luncheon and the luncheon series visit www.livermorechamber.org or call 925-447-1606. Luncheon tickets are $55 for LVCC members and their guests and $65 for “Not-Yet” LVCC members.
