It’s Happening in Livermore

Summer is here and construction on the Downtown plan is in full swing. There is a lot to be excited about as we get closer to the opening of Veterans Way in July. This two-way road connecting Livermore Avenue and L Street will offer parking and easy access to the First Street businesses and the future Stockmen’s Park. Look forward to a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 28.

Also slated to complete construction in July is the City’s new Civic Center Meeting Hall. This building will include the Dr. John Shirley City Council Chamber and the City’s state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Center. The grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for this site is set for July 13.

Another event that is sure draw crowds to Livermore is the annual Little League Intermediate 50/70 World Series at Max Baer Park, bringing in teams from all over the world. The tournament will run from July 28 through August 4. New this year, ESPN will broadcast the entire tournament!
