Virtual Office Hours + News You Can UseDear Neighbor,

My office is hosting Virtual Office Hours tomorrow morning and if you haven’t yet attended one, I invite you to make an appointment to speak with my staff! This event will offer a chance for those in need of assistance to get connected to resources, share your concerns and receive help with state agencies. Information about how to access the Zoom will be sent to those who RSVP.

Virtual Office Hours:

Thursday, May 28th
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

I also would like to provide you with some useful information and resources:

  • In case you missed it:  the DMV announced drivers 70 and older with a noncommercial license that expires in June or July will receive a 120-day temporary extension. No individual action is required as eligible drivers will receive a paper license extension in the mail.
    • Drivers age 69 and younger with a noncommercial license that expires between March and July will receive a temporary extension through July 31, 2020. Californians who previously requested an extension through May 31, 2020, are eligible to submit a new request to document the new date.
  • Visit my Senior and Medically Sensitive Individuals webpage featuringlocalized information and resources for older adults and other high-risk individuals.
  • The State of California has also launched EngAGE California, a website with information and resources for older adults across the state.
  • I encourage you to watch my video to learn about Common COVID-19 Scams with District Attorney Nancy O’Malley and Contra Costa Senior legal Services Executive Director.
  • California just launched the Great Plates Delivered program: this program helps seniors and other adults at high risk from COVID-19 to stay home and stay healthy by delivering three nutritious meals a day from local restaurants. Call 211 to see if you are eligible to participate!
