Granada High School, a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, completed the IB verification visit, the final phase of the authorization process, on November 2 and 3, 2015. With the completion of this visit, Granada High School will now be moving forward with the enrollment process for current sophomores, who will make up the inaugural cohort of International Baccalaureate candidate students at the school. Students in the class of 2018 may enroll in the 2-year Diploma Programme for their junior and senior years of high school.

The Granada High School Diploma Programme will embrace the philosophy shared by all IB World Schools — a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programs of international education that share a powerful vision.

Bringing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to Granada also means bringing the Programme to the Livermore community. Students will engage in extensive research, in some instances seeking out expert mentorship beyond the school campus to support their inquiry. Students will be involved in various, meaningful service projects and creative endeavors that engage them with their community and their world.

All current sophomores are invited to apply to be part of the IB Diploma Programme at Granada. The admission process includes an informational application and is accompanied by a meeting with the IB Coordinator to ensure a full understanding of and proper placement within the Diploma Programme.

Applications for admissions are available on the Granada High School website, using the International Baccalaureate quick link. Parents and students may also pick up applications in Granada High’s counseling office.

Michell K-8 has recently been authorized as an International Baccalaureate World School in the primary and middle year programmes, allowing for a unique IB continuum in LVJUSD and the region.
