LIVERMORE, CA – (February 5, 2016) – The new Visitor’s Center and Gallery located at the Bankhead Theater in downtown Livermore will hold its first official event with “Art and Wine Intertwined,” a casual wine tasting on Saturday afternoon, February 20, 2016. The event will run from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Local wines from White Crane Winery, Page Mill Winery and Rodrigue Molyneaux Winery will be served and attendees can stroll through the Visitor’s Center and Gallery where the Bothwell Arts Center’s current exhibit “Raw/Cooked” is on display through the end of the month. Light appetizers will also be served and live music featured throughout the afternoon.

Run by the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center (LVPAC), the Visitor’s Center and Gallery is located in the Bankhead Theater lobby at 2400 First Street in downtown Livermore. It is open to the public seven days a week from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. Visitors can view art exhibits and speak with staff members about activities at the Bankhead Theater and Bothwell Arts Center, or find out more about the City of Livermore. More events such as “Art and Wine Intertwined” and other opportunities to welcome visitors to the center are planned for the future, contributing to LVPAC’s efforts to build awareness and share both visual and performing arts with the community.

The Gallery presents art curated by the Bothwell Arts Center throughout the year. The current exhibit, “Raw/Cooked,” features the work of six instructors, all of whom have their studios or work at the Bothwell Arts Center or Downtown Arts Studio. The instructor’s works are presented in conjunction with the work of their students. The resulting exhibit demonstrates the results from art classes and instruction, and provides an intriguing view of the creative process at work from both a teacher and student level.

The Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center provides wide-ranging programs that provide access to the arts for the Tri-Valley community and beyond. The Bankhead Theater at 2400 First Street, and the Bothwell Arts Center, located on Eighth Street, are home to nine resident performing arts companies and over 40 studio artists and cultural arts instructors.
