Congressman Eric Swalwell Visits Junction K-8 School

On Thursday, February 19, Congressman Eric Swalwell will visit Junction K-8 School in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) as part of his signature In Your Shoes events. Congressman Swalwell regularly works alongside East Bay residents to better understand the needs of his constituents. He has “worked” as a paramedic, a baker, an organic farmer, and now, a paraeducator. He will shadow a special education aide and see firsthand the demands of the work.“I’m looking forward to working with a paraeducator with LVJUSD.  School districts across the nation face teacher shortages coupled with the rising number of children with disabilities and other special needs.  Working in the shoes of a paraeducator will give me an understanding of this challenging and dynamic role and guide how my office can support paraeducators and the children in their classrooms” says Swalwell.
