Crawdad Republic will treat audiences to an appealing mix of Americana, folk and bluegrass music at Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center’s fifth “Evenings on the Green” concert on July 12, 2016. The band has very local roots; nearly all the band members attended either Livermore or Granada High School. Brandon Olivo (Banjo), Jon Williams (Guitar/Mandolin), Dave Haberman (Mandolin/Guitar), Dusty Boyle (Upright Bass), and Doug Allen (Keys) are joined by Adam Elliott (Drums) who grew up in Castro Valley. Earlier, the “Art on the Green” open air art fair will fill the sidewalk along First Street with displays of local arts and crafts.

“Evenings on the Green” continues a popular local tradition with free community concerts every Tuesday evening throughout the summer. Still to come are jazz band Secret Tattoo, Americana blues music with Lisa Marie Johnston & Friends, contemporary jazz with The Experience, rock hits of the 60s and 70s with Lunafish, and a one-day “Guitar Fest” acoustic guitar competition and festival closing the series on August 16. As well as adding “Art on the Green” this year, LVPAC offered a free outdoor yoga session followed by live light jazz music last month in honor of International Yoga Day, attracting more than 100 participants.

Tuesday July 12th also marks the first day tickets will be on sale to the public for LVPAC Presents’ Tenth Season. The season opens the second weekend in September with comedian Kathleen Madigan on Friday night, followed on Saturday by the Tenth Season Gala featuring Judy Collins with the Livermore-Amador Symphony, and includes nearly 50 shows running through June 2017.

Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center offers a diverse range of programs providing access to the arts for the Tri-Valley community and beyond. The Bankhead Theater and the Bothwell Arts Center offer numerous events each year, from classes and workshops, to concerts and performances, as well as extensive educational outreach in the arts.
