Livermore, CA – (May 2, 2017) – A colorful mix of mediums, styles, and color palettes will demonstrate visual beauty through the creation of rhythm as part of a new exhibit in the Gallery at the Bankhead Theater. “Creative Rhythm” features works of photography, acrylics, oils, watercolors and collage which show ballerinas and fire dancers, as well as the nature’s beauty and pure abstractions of light and color. Curated by the Bothwell Arts Center, “Creative Rhythm” will be on display at the Bankhead Theater Gallery from May 3 through June 26, 2017.

In considering the works to be displayed, Anne Giancola, curator of the exhibit and manager of the Bothwell Arts Center, cited a quote from author Virginia Woolf as inspiration. “Now this is very profound, what rhythm is, and goes far deeper than words. A sight, an emotion, creates this wave in the mind, long before it makes words to fit it …” The exhibit is all about how artists find the rhythm in art. Whether it is a literal or figurative interpretation, the works represent how the artist sees or feels rhythm translated visually.
