Livermore, CA – The Course at Wente Vineyards is the scene for this year’s annual Golf Tournament hosted by the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce on September 30.

The tournament will host 144 golfers, kicking off at 10 am with a shot-gun start.  Fremont Bank is the tournament sponsor and there are awards for the winners of 5 contest holes, and first place trophies.  Premier hole sponsors include well-known local businesses – John Muir Health; UNCLE Credit Union; Gene Morgan Insurance; Ponderosa Homes; Livermore Valley Performing Arts; and Altamont Beer Works.  Goat Racer Coffee is hosting the morning beverage.  Registration also includes a box lunch and swag bag.  The event wraps up with a Wente hosted wine reception.

With the vaccine being deployed early 2021, LVCC began planning the tournament for the summer.  “Despite the recent spike in COVID cases due to the Delta-variant and the low rate of vaccinations in Livermore, LVCC is determined to get back to business.  We started in July with in-person events, taking all necessary precautions to keep our team and guests safe,”  said Dawn Argula, LVCC CEO, “Until the majority of the public is vaccinated and this virus is brought under control, face coverings and protocols to keep people healthy and safe are key to keeping the economy open.”

In 2020, pre-vaccine, LVCC organized the first golf tournament at Wente, offering a safe, outdoor option for players confined for months to shelter-in-place to help control the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus.  LVCC and the golfers were required to adhere to strict protocols including limiting the number of players to 72.  In spite of the limitations, including a Red Flag Warning and a PG&E Public Safety Power Shut off, the tournament went smoothly and golfers had a good time vowing to return to play  post-COVID.
