May 15, 2017, Livermore, CA – In a high-octane, autobiographical comedy, “Black Girl, Funny World,” Faith Rodman Alpher chronicles the humorous, heartwarming and revealing events of her life, a journey that is both uplifting and entertaining. Presented in conjunction with KKIQ, the show reaches the Bankhead Theater on Friday, June 9, 2017.

A native of Teaneck, New Jersey, Alpher is a trained actress, comedian, radio personality, wife, and dog lover. She brings all those experiences to her work on the stage and her ability to easily connect with people of every background has delighted audiences on television, film and the stage for years. Alpher’s quick wit and lively humor has also made her a sought after mistress of ceremonies.

“Black Girl, Funny World” has Alpher portraying dozens of characters, from a black hip-hop dancer to her mother-in-law, in a show that includes Jewish dancing, an Irish blessing and a Soul Train line. Stories of perseverance, race, and love, including her Jewish/Irish/Black Pentecostal wedding, take audiences from hilarity to heartbreak as the Soul Train line comes to life. “Black Girl, Funny World” is a unique solo show that allows Alpher to celebrate her diversity while engaging her audience through songs and the raw emotion of laughter and tears.
